Plumb-Line is selected for Warm Front initiative

After a rigorous tendering process, Plumb-Line has been selected as a regional sub-contractor to eaga - the principal contractor for the Warm Front Scheme. Warm Front is the Government's largest scheme designed to combat fuel poverty in the private owner occupied and rented sector in England. This scheme provides support to priority and vulnerable groups in society who are considered to be in, or at risk of, fuel poverty.

Plumb-Line will be repairing or replacing central heating systems in homes in Northamptonshire, parts of Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes, Luton, Aylesbury Vale, South Buckinghamshire, Slough and Wycombe. Plumb-Line is also a Warm Front sub-contractor for oil and solid fuel heating in parts of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire.

A household in fuel poverty is defined as one where more than 10% of income is needed to heat the home to an adequate standard of warmth. Fuel poverty can come about as the result of a combination of poor energy efficiency in homes, high energy prices and low incomes.

The Warm Front Scheme provides a package of insulation and heating improvements up to a maximum value of £3,500 (or £6,000 where oil, low carbon or renewable technologies are recommended), less the value of all works previously completed in the property under Warm Front.

All successful grant applicants' homes will be visited by a trained Technical Surveyor/Assessor, who will determine the full requirements of each individual property.
